Russell Bermuda grass is a hybrid Bermuda grass which can be cut every 28 days during the summer time and is a lot thicker than your normal Bermuda grasses. In early 2001 we replanted our entire farm with Russell Bermuda and it has done wonderful.
We harvest somewhere around 100 bales to the acre per cutting. In the 2003 summer season we harvested over 4,000 sq. bales on just 25-30 acres. In early spring and late fall we consistently spray in order keep our pastures weed free, and we always fertilize after every cutting.
- Our square bales are the standard 34-38 inches and consistently weigh between 40–60 lbs.
- We use the Netherexe pick up system, which allows us to load flatbed trailers with ease.
- We could possibly deliver. (Subject to a bale and mile minimum).
- Our rates per bale are based on cost of equipment, labor, fertilizer, fuel, etc.
- We have 3 different rates: In the field, In the barn, and the maybe delivered.(depending on distance and quantity)
